coincidence?

August 8: Pro-war incumbent Joe Lieberman loses the Senate primary to anti-war challenger Ned Lamont. This race is considered to be the pulse point of the Democratic party's stance on the war and strategies for the upcoming elections. Lamont dethrones an established Congressman and former Vice-Presidential candidate. Can you feel the pulse?
August 10: Authorities in Britain, a close ally to W, choose this day to make a large number of arrests related to a terror plot, forcing air travel into chaos, forcing international flights into the US to stand on Code Red alert, domestic flights on Code Orange alert, etc...
Now Lieberman, who has on his plate a piece of meat he doesn't want, is choosing to point at the terrorists while screaming "fire!" so all the voters won't see him throw his steak to the dog under his chair. Gee, I did that when I was six.
“If we just pick up like Ned Lamont wants us to do, get out by a date certain, it will be taken as a tremendous victory by the same people who wanted to blow up these planes in this plot hatched in England,” Mr. Lieberman said at a campaign event at lunchtime in Waterbury, Conn. “It will strengthen them and they will strike again.”
I hope intensely that W's strategy of pulling Code Reds out of his back side whenever he's caught with his hand in an oil executive's pants is so blatantly obvious to the American public by now that it is laughable- all the way to the voting booth.
